Five Ways to Thank God this season

We are Grateful

Some of you might be asking, “why is this wonderful blogger sharing this post, isn’t it obvious How to Thank God, I mean we all know God and we can just say God I thank you, its that simple and the world knows this”.

The answer to that is, it might shock you what over familiarity does to people, I mean this is a God that we’ve known and heard of all our lives, for some of us who just got born again, a couple of years or so. But, thanking God is not a mere doing, what i mean by that is, we actually cannot thank God ordinarily, but by Faith. This is a God we cannot see, but for the Holy Spirit who the bible describes as the “Angel of God’s Presence”, who relates God’s presence to us who have received him. So, if not by Faith, we cannot thank God.

So, not that these are the only ways we can thank God but, these five ways will go a long way in saying Lord I’m truly Grateful.

Hear this, the number one way we thank God is by our fellowship with God through Prayer. Here, we praise the lord, with words that say how great He is, how awesome he is and how wonderful He is. Just like our earthly fathers, when we are given a gift from them, we burst into Joy and start to praise them, some of us jumping and screaming say,” daddy you are the best”, how much more the creator of the universe, the first and the last, the everlasting God. God deserves our Praise and thanks as well and even more. Even as I type this post, i just wanna praise Him. Also, the ministry of the Holy Spirit in our lives, we must not forget to Thank Him, he has been our Comforter, Standby, our ever present help in times of need.

The Second way we express our thanks to God is by financial and material seeds. These are things that most of us Christians take lightly and because of that have missed out on the blessings of God in our life. Giving from your substance of which the lord blessed you with is an act of faith and worship to God, Note here that i’m not referring to our Tithes, First fruits or Offerings, this is our Thanksgiving Offering, that says to God “Lord you are my source and i thank you for your supply and your provision”.  Remember the Word of God says, A Grateful heart is a garden, this means that you will always blossom and thrive and grow so beautifully that the world will notice. Practically, I’ll urge you to take, no matter how little (putting in mind that God deserves your best), from what God has blessed you with, especially money, put this in an envelope and send it to church. I’m sure your churches have already announced the days of thanksgiving. We are doers of God’s word and not just hearers, so we will hear to do.

Moving on, the third way to Give thanks to God is through our actions, our good deeds of love in the church and outside the church, with the brethren and our families. As we all know, Christmas is near and the new year is also close by, we can say thank you to God by finding out around us those that do not have enough to celebrate and put a smile on their faces, by giving them gifts, rice, chicken, meat and even clothes for the children. Right now in my Ministry, Believers Loveworld Nation, there is a send portions campaign for children by the Inner City Missions Partnership arm, you can join them in sending portions of food to the less privileged ones and put a smile in the face of at least one child (I’ll include links on how we can participate). God is indeed happy when we do this. Also, even with our words, the way we talk to people, tell some how beautiful they are, help someone in need, and literally just smile to put a smile in someones face this season.

Now, this particular one i’m about to share is very important, the fourth way is  simply to share the Good news  about our Lord Jesus to someone, yes I said simply, lol. This has been quite a challenge for some of us but i’m here to say its really not a challenge. Just simply asking someone if they are born again is the first step, if you are a student you can do this during your free period or even on your way home from school, if you work, even much more easy, you have colleagues and other staff in your company or department, telling someone about what the Lord did for you is a way of thanksgiving, it says a lot that you are not selfish about the salvation that you already have, you wanna share it with your world. More so, apart from doing that, you can invite the person to church with you for thanksgiving and your church will do the rest,..this one is for the shy ones, hahaha, but its a good thing as well.

Now the fifth way is, by our appreciation to everyone that has been in our lives, throughout this year we’ve had people who through it all stood by us, even when we faced situations, they still stood strong for us. These are people who God sent and used to be our Comfort and help throughout the year. We have them in our Pastors, Cell Leaders, Coordinators in church, parents, siblings, extended relations, our friends, teachers, bosses, leaders and many others. A simple thank you call or text or messages through cards, even gifts will definitely be great coming from you. Do you know why you will do this, because you are like your heavenly father, you are different from the rest of the world, the bible calls us, peculiar people. So, even in this season of thanks giving, you will stand out from the rest and thank God like you have never done before.

All these five ways are a great expression of your thanks toward God. I’ll be glad to receive feed backs and comments from you. Keep Illuminating, Its still our season of THANKSGIVING

…and my sincere apologies for this post being too long ahhh my fingers ooh, anyway i thought it was important to share this one as it is. I’m sure we can handle that,…I trust una, lol.

kip Illuminating.

Hello everyone,

How was your night? for those of us on the same time zone, how has your day been? Well, my day just began, it started off slow but now i’m up and because of the alone time i get to myself, my intelligent head got thinking as usual and with no one to share it with in person right now, I decided my fellow Kings and Queens on this blog should hear it.

Its no news that 2014 is around the corner like an amebor and 2013 is drawing to a close as if it is a curtain, lol, even though that’s all we want, for those of us who are in schImageool for medicine , like my humble self.

I know that if you’re reading this post at this time, you are alive and well, and even if you feel sick or there’s a challenge going on in your life, you are still able to put on a smile and exercise what i’m about to share with you, which is a good thing, so please put a smile on that lovely face of yours, before you read the next sentenceImage. Now we can continue. As I was about to point out, there’s so much anticipation for what the coming year brings, I myself can’t wait to see next year, if not for anything, the holidays i get from school is something i look forward to, lol, I almost started writing out plans. While we are busy thinking about the things we are set to accomplish and so on and so forth, we have to stop for a minute or more, lol, to think about all that Our Lord has done for us, his never failing love, protection and provision and so much more towards us. Common na, Nna and Nne, Oko ati Iyawo, Boy and Girl, Man and Woman, Children and Parents, I know we’ve been buzy rounding off the year, but lets just take a moment to say “THANK YOU LORD FOR EVERYTHING YOU’VE DONE AND BEEN TO ME“. Wow, that was easy, wasn’t it. I know it was because I did that with you as well.

This is the season of thanksgiving and there’s so much to be thankful for. The Psalmist in Psalm 100: says Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth. Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before Him with joyful singing. Know that the LORD Himself is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Enter His gates with thanksgiving, And His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him; bless His name. For the LORD is good; His loving kindness is everlasting, And His faithfulness to all generations.
